Structural Engineering Design

We develop structural solutions targeting safety and efficiency, coordinated with the architectural system, construction requirements, and applicable codes.

Service scope

Core deliverables

Code-based structural analysis and design

Foundation, column, beam, slab, and detail drawings

Option review, value engineering, and coordination with architecture and MEP

What this service strengthensDocumented design verification within scopeMore efficient structural solutionsBetter multidisciplinary coordination

Technical documentation

Our technical record includes these types of multidisciplinary outputs. Project-sensitive drawings are not published without the applicable usage permission.

  • Foundation, grade-beam, and reinforcement drawings
  • Column, beam, slab, and connection details
  • Structural steel, stair, and connection details
  • Precast elements and opening coordination

Delivery method

From design inputs to coordinated structural details

  1. 01

    Confirm the inputs

Review architecture, use, loads and available ground information, identifying missing design inputs.

  2. 02

    Review systems and options

Define the structural system and review options around the space plan and construction requirements.

  3. 03

    Analyse and coordinate

Develop analysis and design, coordinating structural elements and openings with architecture and MEP.

  4. 04

    Issue drawings and details

Document foundations, members, reinforcement, details and design assumptions within the required package.

Common questions

Can AYM review an existing structural design?

A defined review can be carried out using the relevant drawings, calculations and design basis. The scope distinguishes document review, redesign and assessment of an existing structure.

Does designing an alteration establish the condition of an existing building?

An existing building requires information about the current structure and may need inspection or further investigation. We identify necessary inputs and assessment limits; alteration drawings alone do not address every aspect of existing condition.

What to prepare for our first discussion

A short brief is enough to start. We will confirm which records are needed after understanding your scope.

  • Current architectural drawings, building uses and number of storeys
  • Available ground investigation report and site information
  • Previous structural drawings and calculations for review or alteration
  • Description of alterations, openings or special load requirements
